Beverly-Higginbotham

Beverly Higginbotham

She was a farm wife, bookkeeper for 25 years at Great Heart Seed, and a truck driver for Higginbotham Farms.  Beverly enjoyed volleyball at the YMCA, bowling, playing cards, and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.  She enjoyed cooking and also providing food for those helping on the farm.  She was an avid gardener and also canned the different fruits and vegetables she raised so that they could be enjoyed long after the growing season was done for the year.  She loved animals and taking care of livestock, spending time caring for cattle and pigs, even bottle feeding some of the babies and she was always there to help the kids prepare for the 4-H fair.  She enjoyed helping her husband and sons in the field.

Beverly had a great love for children and was considered the best babysitter ever.  She was fond of traveling, and was able to travel all over the United States, many of those miles on a Gold Wing.  Beverly was a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association and the Heartland Oliver Collectors Club, along with many other antique tractor associations.  She was an active member of Bell Ridge Christian Church for 56 years and also the Eunice Club, Ladies Aid, Little Angels Youth Group, and the Van Ministry at the church.  Beverly volunteered for the Edgar County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Ag in the Classroom. She will be remembered as someone who was always eager to help anyone that needed it.

Beverly Higginbotham was an inspiration to all and a great human being; she will continue to be loved and missed always. In light of Beverly’s passing, Great Heart Seed will be closed all day Thursday, October 22nd, 2015.
